Diana’s Flower Essence Story
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d end up making flower essences but it has become my life’s work. In my 20’s and early 30’s I worked in banking and financial services. At 34, I entered a spiritual community where, among other things, I was introduced to the Chinese 5 Element understanding of health through Touch for Health. I absorbed this through how we lived. After leaving the community 12 years later, I studied Jin Shin TARA, another system based on 5 Elements, and started using flower essences from two companies on the US east coast. As I used the flower essences, I began to feel it instead of learning about them. I was remembering what I already knew from lifetimes of working with plant spirits.
At the time I was living in Boulder Colorado. That is where I met John, my life partner of 24 years. In 1999 we moved to Lummi Island on land that he stewarded (people say “owned”) for many years. The fairies here and my spirit Guides told me, “We’re going to make flower essences together.” Then the fun began!! They trained me for several years, and now we work in partnership. Over time our fun evolved into the flower essence company Tree Frog Farm is today. Together we have created 137 individual flower and tree essences, 8 aromatherapy and essence misters and a wide variety of flower essence blends – including the Organ Energy Meridian Blends.
We’re now in a transition time of year, which relates in Chinese 5 Element to the Earth Element. In winter (Water Element) snow and water collect on the ground. During the transition (Earth Element) the melting snow and water seep into the ground to feed the plants and trees that leaf out in spring (Wood Element). Here the weather has bounced back and forth between freezing and thawing. Plants start to bud and then are doused in snow. Earlier this week we began the process of growing the shiso plant used in our no-alcohol flower essence base. The Spleen and Stomach Organ Energy Meridian Blends relate to the Earth Element and seasonal transition. Boneset is a key essence in the Spleen Blend and supports the immune system. Goat’s Beard, one of my all-time favorites, helps with feeling grounded and confident in daily life, and is key in both the Spleen and Stomach Blends. Goat’s Beard is also an essence in our Earth Wisdom Life Process Blend as well as Black Gooseberry essence. All of which are on special now through to mid-April.

Spleen Organ Energy Meridian Blend
The spleen/pancreas organ energy system (spleen system) is the yin to the stomach’s yang. It is known as the “source of life” for the other yin organs. The spleen separates the life force energy (chi) from food the stomach is processing, then sends this chi to the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys. The spleen system itself uses this chi to create blood, circulate it and keep it within the blood vessels. It circulates chi to muscles to keep them strong, and circulates information throughout the body supporting memory, concentration and will. The spleen regulates the center. When the center is not stable, excess energy expresses as unproductive repetitive thinking. Since it draws energy up from the body of the Mother Earth, it regulates fertility cycles. The physical spleen/pancreas regulates blood sugar, produces red blood cells and supports the immune system.

The Stomach organ energy system is the yang to the spleen’s yin. The stomach system digests food and experiences, provides nourishment and a sense of stability and a centered place on Earth. Symptoms of the stomach system being out of balance include; digestive issues, sinus problems, headaches in the forehead, TMJ and surface skin issues like minor rashes. Unbalanced stomach system fuels worry, anxiety, unhealthy relationships and lack of safety.

Boneset Flower Essence
Use Boneset Essence when you are experiencing such symptoms as – chronic fatigue, adrenal depletion, chronic respiratory problems, chronic shingles, graves’ disease or lupus. Although flower essences don’t diagnose or treat the actual physical symptom, they may be helpful in combination with other essences and healing modalities, to help symptoms of chronic immune system depletion or autoimmune issues.

Black Gooseberry Flower Essence
Use Black Gooseberry Flower Essence when don’t trust your deeper knowing and are constantly looking outside for answers.
