Sweet Briar Rose is a naturalized wild rose from England with a profusion of pink flowers that is just finishing blooming. This essence was made during a flower essence class I taught here at Tree Frog Farm on June 12. It was an unusual day for making an essence since the weather was mostly overcast with some sun breaks. I wasn’t sure it was going to happen, but the Sweet Briar Rose deva and other guidance insisted that it be made. Class was over before the essence was finished. Now it was threatening rain. I checked in, still 100% integrity. Then it started to rain. Raindrops were landing in the essence bowl where the rose blossoms were floating on the water. I thought it was ruined and I’d have to make it over again. I checked and still 100% integrity. Then the deva gave me the signature of this essence and I understood:
Sweet Briar Rose (Rosa rubiginosa)
Fuels consistent Love for yourself and others in all circumstances.
I AM constancy with Love come rain or come shine.
Oregon Grape is a native of this region whose yellow spring flowers are now turning to their distinctive blue/purple berries. It is commonly found in second growth Douglas fir forests. Its tart purple berries are edible and make a nice jelly. The root and stem bark is yellow inside and has traditionally been used to make a yellow basket dye. Indigenous peoples have used the berries and bark for liver, gallbladder and eye problems. Herbalists today use Oregon grape for digestive weakness and skin ailments – such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, boils and herpes – that are related to gallbladder stagnation. I met the light-heated, gregarious deva of this plant 5 years ago when we first moved back to Lummi Island and have been eagerly awaiting this essence. This year the time was ripe. The essence was made by calling the frequency of the deva/plant spirit directly into the “mother” bottles, which were set on the ground touching the plants and surrounded by quartz crystals, charoite, malachite, and shattukite stones.

Western Trillium grows in moist open forests. Ants gather the seed for their oil rich appendage. They eat the oil, then discard and disperse the seed. Trillium’s name refers to the 3 petals of the blossom. There are also 3 sepals alternating between the petals and 3 leaves lower on the stock. This supports sacred geometry of 3, 6, 9. This essence was also made with the “no-pick” method by calling the deva/plant spirit directly into the “mother” bottles. This time quartz, charoite and shattukite stones were placed so they created a matrix connecting the bottles.
