I’m enjoying the quiet, internal feeling of this dark time of year. We have simplified our Holiday expectations so it is easier to slow down and feel the deeper meaning of the season.
‘Tis the season of kindness and peace. Christians rejoice in the birth of the Prince of Peace. People of the Jewish faith commemorate independence and peace after gaining freedom from the Syrian-Greeks and rededicating their Temple. Both of these holidays coincide with the season of the Winter Solstice celebrated by many people around the world. This is a time for Light Returning. For me this Light signifies Higher Consciousness and humanity’s development toward living with more kindness and peace. We are actually made for this, and the teachings about how to embody Light are woven through each major spiritual tradition.
